Its Seed Start Time!
A seed is like a thought give it care, and it will grow!
Its February 15, 2025!

Let’s start some seeds. Mostly right now you would want to focus on spring crops like kale, cauliflower and broccoli. If you have farm chickens, then it’s important to make sure your plants can handle themselves well into being brought outside and transplanted. Due to my chickens liking to ruin everything (just kidding it’s more of if you know you know thing) I always start mass amounts of seeds at about this time it being mid-February.
My farmstead BushCraft Alchemy business utilizes a variety of herbs and flowers for my concoctions so it’s important that I add what’s necessary to my seed starts. I am starting 10-15 English lavender heirloom seeds. My plan is to create a beautiful useful landscape. These lavender plants will line the driveway or pond. I am also starting hollyhock which is a new grow for me but hollyhock is known to have many benefits such as it helps to treat colds, coughs, stomach issues, can prevent kidney stones and is also an anti-inflammatory (Health Benefits Times 2016). It also adds beauty to floral bouquets!
I ordered a 30 seed edible flower/ herb organic pack off amazon for Christmas (I included the link for it below). I am super excited to start all of the seeds from the pack plus all my other garden seeds as well. An exciting one that was in the seed pack was the “love lies bleeding” this seed is used as a sort of grain in some places. Could you imagine me making sourdough with it? Let’s see if I can grow it first!
